About this session
Library and information professionals have made effective use of social media for many years now and have often been the pace setters and pioneers for innovative use of social media in a professional capacity.
This session will take a look at the current trends of social media use by libraries and librarians and will bring together the different ways in which social media is being used for service delivery, marketing and publicity, research dissemination and also as a source of data and analytics.
About Leo
Leo Appleton is a senior university teacher, and programme leader of the MA in Librarianship at the University of Sheffield’s Information School.
He has previously held several leadership and management roles in a number of academic libraries. His professional and research interests include the value and impact of public libraries and all aspects of library leadership and management.
